Adding a new person to an existing company
- Open the company you want to make changes to, and click the People tab.
- Click New Person.
- Type the first few letters of the person’s last name, and click Enter Person Details. The system searches for possible duplicate person names in the system. For more information, see Preventing duplicate entries. If no potential duplicate person is found, the New Person page is displayed.
- Fill in the necessary details. Some details are filled in automatically using the Company details. You can overwrite them if needed.
To add an address to the person, select one of the following options under Address:
- Person address only. Assigns the specified address to the current person only. The address isn't linked to the company. As a result, when the company's address changes, this person's address isn't updated automatically.
- Person and company address. Links the company's address to the current person. Because the addresses are linked, any change to the company's address automatically updates this person's address.
To select an address from the list of Company addresses, click Select address from list.
- Click Save.
